Quick answer
What is a longevity programme?
A longevity programme is a structured health assessment aimed at healthspan, the years you live in good health. Over 1–2 days, advanced blood tests, heart and metabolic imaging, fitness and sleep tests, and guideline-based cancer screening look for early signs of heart disease, diabetes and other conditions. Specialists then turn the results into a personalised, realistic prevention plan.

Longevity Programme in Istanbul: overview
A longevity programme, sometimes called an executive health check or a healthy ageing programme, is a detailed preventive assessment built around healthspan: the years you live in good health. Instead of waiting for symptoms, it looks for early, often silent signs of common conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, some cancers, osteoporosis and sleep apnoea, which are easier to manage when found early. Med World Türkiye coordinates these programmes at JCI-accredited partner hospitals in Istanbul, where tests that would usually take months of separate appointments are completed in 1–2 days and tailored to your age, sex, family history and goals.
Longevity medicine attracts a great deal of hype, so it helps to be clear about what the evidence supports. Finding risk factors early and acting on them through nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management and, where needed, medical treatment is well supported; no treatment has been shown to reverse ageing. Med World Türkiye therefore does not coordinate unproven rejuvenation treatments. In Turkey, stem-cell treatments are regulated by the Ministry of Health and are not offered as a general anti-ageing service, and IV vitamin or NAD+ infusions, for which evidence is limited, are given only when a physician sees a medical reason.
Which Longevity Programme techniques are available?
Comprehensive assessment and advanced blood tests
After a physician takes your history and examines you, blood tests cover a full blood count, kidney and liver function, HbA1c and fasting insulin, lipids including ApoB and Lp(a), hs-CRP, thyroid function, vitamin D and B12, plus hormone tests when indicated. Cancer screening follows guidelines for your age and sex, such as colonoscopy, mammography or cervical screening, and a discussion of PSA testing.
Heart, metabolism and fitness
A coronary artery calcium (CAC) score CT, carotid ultrasound and echocardiography assess the heart and blood vessels, and a cardiopulmonary exercise test measures your VO2 max, a key marker of fitness. A DEXA scan shows body composition, visceral fat and bone density, and grip strength measures muscle strength.
Sleep, brain and optional advanced tests
A sleep questionnaire, a home sleep-apnoea test if needed, and cognitive screening cover sleep and brain health. Optional tests, added only after discussion with a physician, include whole-body MRI, genetic tests such as hereditary-risk panels or pharmacogenomics with genetic counselling, and biological age tests, which are research tools rather than diagnostic tests.
Personal plan and follow-up
Partner specialists in internal medicine, cardiology or endocrinology review your results as needed and give you a written plan for nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress and any medical follow-up. Remote follow-up at 3, 6 and 12 months and a yearly repeat assessment help you measure progress.
Why choose Med World Türkiye for Longevity Programme?
One programme in 1–2 days
Blood tests, imaging, fitness testing and specialist consultations are coordinated into 1–2 days, instead of months of separate appointments and waiting lists.
JCI-accredited partner hospitals
Tests take place at JCI-accredited partner hospitals, and partner specialists in internal medicine, cardiology or endocrinology review your results as needed.
Evidence-based, no unproven therapies
The programme includes only tests and advice supported by medical evidence. Unproven rejuvenation treatments are not part of it, and optional tests are explained together with their limits.
Itemised written quote
A comprehensive check-up in Turkey often costs less than a comparable private check-up in the UK, mainly because of lower operating costs. The written quote lists every test and consultation before you book.
Who is a good candidate for Longevity Programme?
- Adults from around 35 who want a detailed baseline of their health.
- People with a family history of early heart disease, diabetes or cancer.
- Busy professionals who want a full executive health check done in a few days rather than over several months.
- People who want a structured, measurable prevention plan with regular follow-up.
- People with an existing condition who want a second look at their risk, with their own doctor kept informed. If you have new symptoms, see a doctor now rather than waiting for a programme.
What does a Longevity Programme trip to Istanbul look like?
- 1
Before travel – Questionnaire & records review
You complete an online health questionnaire and share previous reports, and a partner physician reviews them so the programme can be tailored to your age, history and goals. You then receive a written, itemised quote.
- 2
Day 1 – Arrival & pre-visit call
After an airport transfer to your hotel, your coordinator calls to confirm the schedule and explain preparation: fasting for 8–12 hours before blood tests and bringing your medication list and previous reports.
- 3
Days 2–3 – Assessment days
Blood tests, imaging, fitness testing and consultations take place at the partner hospital as day visits. If you have a colonoscopy under sedation, you should not drive for the rest of that day.
- 4
Final day – Results & written plan
A partner specialist explains your results and gives you a written prevention plan. Most results are ready within 24–72 hours; genetic tests take 2–4 weeks and are discussed remotely, followed by remote follow-up.
What is recovery like after Longevity Programme?
Most tests in a longevity programme are non-invasive, so there is little to recover from, and most people return to work the next day. After a colonoscopy under sedation, you should not drive for the rest of that day, and mild bloating may last a few hours. Most results are ready within 24–72 hours and can be discussed before you fly home; genetic test results take 2–4 weeks and are explained remotely. Remote follow-up at 3, 6 and 12 months helps you keep to your written plan, a repeat assessment is offered each year, and, with your consent, results are shared so your own doctor stays informed.
How much does Longevity Programme cost in Turkey?
The price of a longevity check-up in Turkey depends on the number and type of tests, whether imaging such as a CAC score CT or whole-body MRI is included, any genetic panels, the specialist consultations you need and the length of your stay. With Med World Türkiye, a partner physician first reviews your questionnaire and previous records. You then receive a written, itemised quote from the partner hospital before you book anything, so you can decide which optional tests, if any, to add.
What your written quote itemises
- Physician and specialist consultations
- Advanced blood tests
- Heart, fitness and DEXA tests as planned
- Guideline-based cancer screening
- Written plan and remote follow-up
- Transfers if requested, interpreter and coordinator
Med World Türkiye does not publish a price list. Every price comes from a written, itemised quote issued by the partner hospital after a surgeon has reviewed your photos, scans or medical records.
Longevity Programme: frequently asked questions
What is longevity tourism?
Longevity tourism means travelling to another country for a detailed preventive health assessment, for example at a hospital check-up centre or longevity clinic in Istanbul, combined with a short stay. The aim is healthspan: finding risks such as heart disease, diabetes, some cancers or osteoporosis early and leaving with a personalised prevention plan. With Med World Türkiye, assessments take place at JCI-accredited partner hospitals over 1–2 days, and most people stay 3–5 days.
How much does a longevity check-up cost in Turkey?
The cost of a longevity check-up in Turkey depends on the number and type of tests, imaging such as a CAC score CT or whole-body MRI, any genetic panels, the specialist consultations you need and the length of your stay. The initial consultation is free: a partner physician reviews your questionnaire and records, and you then receive a written, itemised quote from the partner hospital before you book, with optional tests listed separately.
Does a longevity programme really work, and what is the evidence?
Prevention and early detection are well supported by evidence. Finding high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, prediabetes, some cancers or sleep apnoea early allows treatment before complications develop, and regular exercise, good sleep and a healthy diet protect long-term health. However, no treatment has been shown to reverse ageing. A programme is worthwhile when it leads to realistic changes and appropriate medical follow-up, not because of any single test.
Should I have a whole-body MRI?
A whole-body MRI is optional and should be decided only after a discussion with a physician. It can reveal incidental findings, small abnormalities that are usually harmless but can lead to further tests, procedures and worry. Most medical guidelines do not recommend it as a routine screening test for people without symptoms, although specialists do use it for certain inherited conditions. A partner physician will tell you honestly whether it is likely to help you.
Can a test tell my biological age?
A biological age test, such as an epigenetic clock based on DNA methylation, estimates how your body is ageing compared with your calendar age, but these tests are research tools rather than diagnostic tests. Results can vary between different tests and laboratories, and on their own they do not tell you what to change. They are optional; established measures such as blood pressure, ApoB, HbA1c, VO2 max and bone density remain the basis of a prevention plan.
Do you offer stem cells, NAD+ or anti-ageing infusions?
No, Med World Türkiye does not coordinate unproven rejuvenation or anti-ageing treatments. In Turkey, stem-cell treatments are regulated by the Ministry of Health and are not offered as a general anti-ageing service. Evidence for IV vitamin and NAD+ infusions is limited, so they are given only when a physician sees a medical reason. Our programmes focus on evidence-based tests and advice.
What happens after I go home?
After you go home, you follow your written plan for nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress and any medical follow-up. Remote follow-up at 3, 6 and 12 months reviews your progress and any new results, genetic test results are discussed remotely once ready, usually after 2–4 weeks, and a repeat assessment is offered each year. With your consent, your results and plan are shared with your own doctor, so they stay informed and can arrange local follow-up.
